Our Environmental & Sustainability Policy Statement
Dale Office Interiors is a distributor of office furniture based in South Yorkshire and operating across the region. A review of our operations has been conducted and the primary activities that interact with the environment have been recognised. Steps have been taken to address the issues highlighted as described in the policy statement below.
Dale Office Interiors is registered to ISO14001. We are committed to continual improvement of our environmental performance and are working towards minimal impact on the natural and human environments, preventing the pollution of the environment wherever possible and ensuring full legislative compliance.

Aims
Dale Office Interiors will address its environmental impacts through the following activities.
Our Products
We will offer a range of high environmental performance furniture to our clients, work with furniture reuse networks to offer refurbished equipment alongside new furniture. We will work with our suppliers to reduce the environmental impact of the products that we sell. In particular, our wood ranges are sourced from timber grown to standards that meet or exceed those established by the Forestry Stewardship Certificate.
Waste Management
All goods remain within their packaging until reaching the point of use. Waste packaging is then brought back to Dale Office Interiors, segregated and recycled. Waste wooden pallets and waste wooden furniture are collected for either reuse or recycling. We monitor the levels of general waste and reduce volumes wherever possible. We also work with local waste-carriers in view of any waste not recycled being utilised in the Sheffield Energy Recovery Facility.
Vehicle Management
A vehicle management procedure is in place to ensure that wherever possible, any impacts are reduced. The transport manager is responsible for efficient route planning and co-ordinating deliveries to ensure minimal distance is traveled. Vehicles are upgraded to maintain efficiency and minimise emissions at least every four years. Drivers are trained to drive in an efficient manner.
Energy Use
We measure our energy consumption and purchase electricity from renewable sources. We work to reduce our energy consumption by buying low-energy equipment and by a high awareness of energy saving with our staff.
Office/Waste Paper
We will monitor the use of paper in our firm and work to reduce this by using electronic communication, by encouraging staff to avoid printing and when they do print to do this on double sided printing. Where paper use cannot be eliminated, all waste paper generated in the business will be recycled. Any other waste resulting from the company’s office operations will be disposed of in a proper and responsible manner. The use of electronic means of communication will also be encouraged.
Training
Train staff to ensure that the workforce understands the actual and potential environmental impacts of both individual and company activities and environmental policy statements.
Procurement
When purchasing, use environmental responsibility as a factor in decisions and therefore help minimise the company’s impact on the environment. All suppliers are vetted to ensure the environmental considerations are managed within their business.
Communication
This policy should be read by and made available to employees of Dale Office Interiors, and actively promoted to anyone else who may be associated with the activities of Dale Office Interiors such as contractors or clients.
